The Treasury building prior to redevelopment had been vacant for a significant period, but previously operated as government offices.The new development saw the site requiring a combination of new structures adjacent to and connecting the heritage building to achieve combined use.
There are a number of individual operators within the redevelopment – which include the Hotel (FJM Equities), and Mirvac Office Tower and retail outlets. This also incorporates the City of Perth Library building and the Perth Diocese buildings.
Significant issues of the development were the life safety systems of the building, the resolution of access and inclusion throughout the heritage component of the building and site and the staged building process.
